History & Present of Ovis 21

beginnings

In the year 2003, Agronomist Pablo Borrelli and Ricardo Fenton, second administrator of Estancia Monte Dinero in Cabo Vírgenes, started Ovis 21 with the objective of increasing the sustainability of the the sheep value chain in the economic, ecologic, social and human dimensions. Ricardo Fenton had returned from Australia with important innovations in sheep husbandry and invited Pablo Borrelli to generate a organization that could introduce these at a regional level, not only at property level. Thanks to their shared experience they created the Ovis 21 Network. At this point the first quality assurance protocols were developed and trainings began.
